Conservation
Area Appraisals define what is special about the character
and appearance of an area and identify its important characteristics.
They can also be a vital tool in determining planning
and conservation area consent applications, underpinning
planning policies, and a platform to develop an active
management plan in consultation with the local residents
and businesses.
TRIGPOINT Conservation
& Planning has extensive expertise in undertaking
historic research and townscape analysis and can prepare
conservation area appraisals either in line with English
Heritage's latest guidance or adapted to suit local circumstances.
In preparing an appraisal TRIGPOINT Conservation
& Planning carries out a thorough research of the
historical development of the area as well as a detailed
townscape analysis to identify such features as significant
buildings and open spaces, important views and trees and
walls, railings or other features of note.

The other appraisals focused on the villages that are
scattered throughout the Borough establishing the influence
and importance of their unique historical development
on the townscape of the existing settlement.
